Reasons for the outbreak of the war
After the proclamation of the Republic, the conflicts between the right and left forces have become more acute. The program of political and social reforms initiated by the republican government prevents, among other points, amnesty and agrarian reform.
The assassination of the deputy and leader of the monarchist right, José Calvo Sotelo, by republican militias, has caused the beginning of the civil war on July 13, then came the coup on July 18, 1936, General Francisco Franco commanded the Spanish army in a coup against the democratic and legal government of the Second Spanish Republic. But the coup was not successful and Spain has been divided between Falangists and Republicans.
