Not there are many artists that survive to a pause something long and become more strong that never, but Fall Out Boy it has made. Their sixth studio album, and the second after the break, "American Beauty/American Psycho", can be more pop release to date. It is undeniable that the band has grown as musicians and who have the versatility to evolve enough to survive in the ever-changing music industry.
Its history, in short, was thus: in 2001, Fall Out Boy was formed on the outskirts of Chicago by members of the hardcore scene. They released their first full album, "Take This To Your Grave", in 2003, which caused the Group win a remarkable amount of fans, also people of the same generation, and served as a prelude to his 2005 album "From Under The Cork Tree", which catapulted them to the mainstream. They made more solid pop prominence during the following years, launching in 2007 "Infinity On High" and in 2008 "Folie à Deux", before announcing his hiatus in 2009 and separating each one to focus on other projects. After having remained silent on the future of the band, they returned in 2013 with "Save Rock And Roll", getting a stellar return and marking the beginning of a new era for the Quartet.
He bassist Pete Wentz has accepted a brief interview with us before the next turn of the group.
What can expect fans of concerts?
This will be the most large version of "American Beauty/American Psycho", talking about the album, we are going to do. Also decided that we wanted to completely change our scenario of last year when we did a tour with Paramore, so there will be a new scenario, plus a couple of new songs that we have not touched since makes enough. Then try of collaborate with Wiz in some time, I think.
Talking about Wiz Khalifa, how went the theme of working with him?
We knew that we wanted to do the tour of amphitheaters with someone A: with whom we can spend time and that we are his fans, and b someone who made sense in the legacy of Fall Out Boy. I think Wiz is that person because he has one foot in the world of hip hop and the world of pop music and pop culture, while Fall Out Boy also has one foot in the world of rock and another in the world of pop music. And I think that we have no sense of somehow, and it either, do you know? Somehow we are small islands and we think that we could get together with another island. So speak with him and with his team and were open to the idea, which was very cool.
It is said that Save Rock and Roll was created back album to modernize the band and got growth. Was there any specific goal when writing American Beauty/American Psycho?
Oh, of course. The idea was that, when we look to rappers and DJs and how they respond to pop culture, it happens instantly. You can create topics in aircraft and they can be recorded in hotel rooms, so we wanted to make an album that had that feeling; an album that had that kind of energy and immediacy.
For the majority of the albums, you have been the main lyricist. You find it difficult to get everything what you get inside through your lyrics?
Was difficult with Folie a Deux. The people believed about us based is in what assumed that was my life and not based is in the music, which made difficult that I Express. For example, I had frustrations related to the war that was trying to express through music and people not came to him in the way that I wanted. And that of okay, because you can't really control the way in which the letters are perceived, simply happens. But now I think that it is a bit more experimental, because I can say "this character in this song, well... It can simply be a character in a song ", instead of basing the character on something that I was, as before. That was more difficult to understand when he was younger. Was much more, "I, I, I, I!" from what it is now.
Can you talk about your record, DCD2? What is going on with that?
Of course! There are lots of things happening right now. Travie McCoy has an album great and a new song that I think that is going to leave to all the world amazed. I believe that I cannot speak much about it because he's going to announce it. Panic! At The Disco have just released a new song called "Hallelujah" and should get an album the year coming, I think. New Politics has a new album, "Vikings", which will be released in August.
