VOLLEYBALL
Is a sport that is played with a ball and in which two teams, made up of six players each, face each other on a separate play area by a central network. The objective of the game is to pass the ball over the net, making it reach the ground of the opponent's field while the opposing team tries to simultaneously prevent it from achieving it, forcing it to err in its attempt. An attack phase arises in a team when it tries that the ball touches the ground of the opposite field whereas in the other equipment arises a phase of defense trying to prevent it.
The ball must be touched or driven with clean punches, but it can not be stopped, held, held or accompanied. Each team has a maximum of three touches to return the ball to the opposite field (in addition to blocking contact).
SOURCE OF VOLLEYBALL
The sport had its origin in the United States in 1895, today being very popular and practiced in almost the entire world. It is regulated by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and 220 nations are represented.
FIRST COMPETITION OF VOLLEYBALL
the funny thing is that the first volleyball was held in the city of the favorite yellow family from around the world (the Simpsons) in Springfield united states of america on July 7, 1896.
GAME RULES
Field of play
The field where the game is played is a rectangle 18 m long by 9 m wide, divided in its central line by a network that separates the two teams. Actually the game also takes place outside, in the free zone, provided that the ball does not touch the ground or any other element. The free zone must have at least 3 meters, measures that for the FIVB World and Official Competitions increases to 5 m on the lateral lines and to 6,5 m for the bottom lines. The free space on the track must have a minimum height of 7 m that in international competitions rises to 12.5 m.4
The contact of the players with the ground is continuous, usually using protections in the joints. The surface can not be rough or slippery.4
Lines
The center line runs directly below the network and divides the game track into two equal 9x9m zones, one for each team. At 3 m from the net a line delimits in each field the attack zone, area where the actions of the players who are at that moment in defensive tasks (defenders and libero) are restricted. These lines extend to the outside of the field with discontinuous lines, and the limitation they represent is projected equally on the whole line, even beyond the drawn lines. All lines are 5 cm wide.4
Areas and areas
The field of play is surrounded by a free zone at least three meters wide in which the ball is also allowed to play. For games in a gymnasium or sports hall, a height of seven meters free on the playing surface is recommended, 4 where there should not be annoying objects or impediments such as basketball baskets or rings.
