After the implementation of nanotechnology in the commercial environment, concern began to arise about the proper personal protection for workers who carry out their activities with nanomaterials, seeking to minimize the risk of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, among others; is due to the fact that working with some nanomaterials can produce residues such as metallic fumes, ultrafine zinc residues and other various particles that are harmful to health. Given this, Morrow 1988; Oberdörster and Yu 1990; Duffin et al. 2002 (cited by J. Nanopart, 2016) mention: Ultrafine particles were found to have higher pulmonary toxicity than larger respirable (fine) particles when measured by mass dose; Particle volume and particle surface area were found to be more predictive dose metrics. (p. 2).
