Ecuador´s Ministry of Health enabled a web page where users verify the scheduling of an appointment for vaccination against COVID-19

In Ecuador, phase 1 of the vaccination plan against COVID-19 is being developed. At this stage, those who receive the doses are medical servants, older adults, police, public forces, firefighters, cleaning personnel, teachers, people with disabilities and catastrophic ills.

To be inoculated in this phase, the applicant must register on the page www.planvacunarse.ec. After several hours, or even days, his cell phone will receive a text message from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) indicating the date, time and place where he will be vaccinated.

The State enabled a web portal in which the scheduling of the appointment to receive the dose of the coronavirus vaccine can be verified. When entering www.citas.med.ec, the user will select the button Verify your vaccination appointment. To corroborate the information he received in the text message from his cell phone, three options were established.

The first is to enter the identity card number of the registered person. In the second option, the date of issue of said document will be placed. When the data is confirmed, users will confirm the information received in the text message by cell phone.

Otherwise, the message “Sorry! The card entered does not yet have an appointment scheduled for the Vaccination Plan. Remember to be attentive to the phases and prioritized objective groups that are communicated by the MSP”.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, as of April 4, 211,720 people had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while the second dose was applied to 89,349 citizens.
