Hurricane Max weakens to tropical storm after landfall on the shores of southern Mexico
The meteorological phenomenon Max became a tropical storm again after Thursday afternoon touched down as a category 1 hurricane on the Mexican Pacific coast, in the southern state of Guerrero, where the popular resorts of Acapulco, Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo , said the National Hurricane Center (CNH) in the United States.
At the moment, Max maintains maximum winds of 70 miles per hour and moves to 8 mph, reports the US National Hurricane Center. The governor of Guerrero, Héctor Astudillo, informed through his Twitter account that on Thursday classes are suspended in Acapulco due to the rains.
The authorities recommended to the population and maritime navigation to comply with the provisions of Civil Protection, as well as extreme caution in conditions of high waves, possible landslides, mudflows and flooding in low and low drainage areas.
