Death of Andreau Nin

The leader of POUM has been declared death after hismisterious of dissapearance. He was an amazing translator of russian literature to catalan and critics said he could have become a wonderful writer and that he wanted to write something about Salvador Seguí. He founded POUM with Joaquín Maurín in 1935 as a communist alternative to the cominters-aligned PCE. Following the violest `May Pays´of Barcelona, on 16 June 1937, the goverment, under PCE pressure; declared POUM illegaly. On the orders of Alexander Orlov, Nir and most of the POUM leadership were arrested and sent to a cump at Alcalá de Henares. Our spies have inform us of the circustances of his death. He was tortured for several days under the supervision of the NKVD. Jesús Herrández Tomás, at the period of his assasination-member of the communist Party, and Minister of Education in the popular Front goverment later wrote about it. Another accourt suggested German members of the PCE-run. International Brigades killed Nin in a fake Nazi `liberation, others suggested he was taken to the Sovietic Union for a execution.
