THE XII OLYMPIC GAMES ARE CANCELLED

The International Olympic Committee has just verified the rumours. The XII Olympic Games have been cancelled due to the WWII; the Second World War. “There were dangers and the best thing was to suspend them. It has been a difficult decision because we had much desire and enthusiasm in this edition, but this is the best for everyone. Sorry for Helsinki and Tokyo that they were finalizing details” – said an Olympic Committee member.

The preparation of the Games was so advanced that Finland even made invitations to the attendance of the following nations: Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, South Africa, Germany, Belgium, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Ceylon, Chile, Costa Rica, Canada, China, Colombia, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Egypt, Spain, Estonia and United States. Philippines, France, Guatemala, Greece. Great Britain, Haiti, Hungary, India, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, Norway, New Zealand. The Netherlands, Central America, Poland, Palestine, Portugal, Paraguay, Peru, Romania. Sweden, El Salvador, Switzerland, Turkey, Uruguay, Venezuela and Yugoslavia. In conclusion, 60 nations that would had been present at the event.

The first nation to announce its participation was England, followed by Denmark, Norway, Italy, Romania, Belgium and Costa Rica. No one know if these Games will be postponed or officially suspended. There will be an answer to this in the following weeks.
