The Falange has a Women´s Section led by Pilar Primo de Rivera, the sister of José Antonio Primo de Rivera, was founded in 1934. This section is in charge of educating and teaching women with the Francoist values. Their job is to instil Falangist, national Catholic ideals in women. This means using propaganda to reinforce the ideal of the submissive, obedient woman as wife and mother who should occupy herself exclusively with household duties.
The law says the domestic ideal mean that women cannot work outside the home, unless they are widowed or single. Wives need written permission from their husbands to work and cannot practise certain professions. They are advised to work in education or in jobs they can do from home.
