Days when the theater wants to talk about peace

For a week, national and international artists will show their talent at the Bello performing arts festival.

 A little girl, named Sofia, finds a huge egg in the forest.  Hence a mystical being born with healing powers, and what happens next can be seen in the XIII Festival The Theater takes Bello.

 The meeting, in which this puppet play called Dragon Hair and 33 other staging will participate, will be held from September 6 to 15 in different urban and rural settings of the municipality.

 The main objective of this edition is to give a peaceful response to the violent and remind families that there are still spaces for citizen meetings, they explain from the organization.  The event has the slogan "celebrating life as an act of peace".

 For Hildebrando Flórez, director of the Tecoc theater and the festival, the performing arts allow for reconciliation and help young people opt for spaces other than crime, because art is a means of expression: “It's like a pot to  pressure that an exhaust valve needs, in this way the sadness, the joys and other feelings of the human being are removed ”.

 Admission to most shows is voluntary and about 10,000 viewers are expected to enjoy the program.  "The works are not only for the Bellanitas, the invitation is for the inhabitants of the Aburrá Valley who enjoy the theatrical spirit."

 International groups such as Sin Espacio Teatro de México, Coriolis de Uruguay, Bet Burgos de Chile and Tiempo originally from Cuba will participate for this thirteenth edition.  Other departments of Colombia will be Castillo Sol y Luna de Cali, Ditirambo de Bogotá, Tropa Teatro de Pereira and Trotasueños de Cartagena.  12 local and regional companies were linked to the festival.

 More than theater
 Hildebrando highlights that the presentations are loaded with a social component and its theme is related to different conflicts.

 Account that after each function there will be a conversation.  In this way it is sought that people make their contribution and discuss the need to ward off violence.  He says that "we must raise awareness, that this festival is an opportunity to grow."

 Since the 90's this project began, but it has not been continuous due to economic and public order difficulties.  This time the theatrical, regardless of the problems, want to go out, meet the communities and leave a message of hope in the neighborhoods.

 For the director, the collective catharsis that is carried out through a play, a painting or a dance allows one to look into each other's eyes and weave ties that foster tolerance.  Consider that through art you can transform realities, reflect and touch the soul: "As a phrase says out there, whose author is unknown, the theater reaches where other types of caresses do not reach"

 Marianela Bustamante, a Tecoc artist, expresses that thanks to the theater, she learned about self-love, knew the meaning of her body and recognized that every human being has something special.
